Johnny Decimal in the Obsidian vault

Initially, folder structure in Obsidian seems to go against the Maps of Content-based “Linking your Thinking” method. However, at least for me, my Obsidian vault is not my Zettelkasten.

There are notes on projects, tools, authors and books, journals and much more… Those are distinct from the “Zettelkasten”, the place where ideas live. Hence my 50 Slipbox folder doesn’t have any folder-hierarchy.

But I use Obsidian for much more than Zettelkasten-style thinking. Therefore it makes sense to have those different types live in their own folders.
