Reflection/Review

With over 800 pages, this has been a massive book to read. What it does is that you really get to know the world well and the characters. The author doesn’t hesitate to include scenes that might not drive the plot forward but allow you to get to know the characters more.

The plot is compelling and took different twists and turns. The characters are absolutely loveable. I wonder if it would have been possible to shorten the length of this book. Compared to the first book of the trilogy (Assassin’s Apprentice), it is almost double the length. That felt incoherent to me in my expectatations.

What I will continue to stick with me are the characters and what I have lived through with them.
