Acceleration can create artifical gravity

This was mentioned in The Expanse.

In a spaceship where the engine is at the bottom, the thrust emulates gravity. The fastest way for space travel is to accelerate the ship for the first half of the way pointing towards it’s target. Half of the way it gets flipped, the engine points the other direction and it reduces speed so it can stop when it arrives.
