Reflection/Review

This was just a stunning read. It was riveting and poeting. It was also heartbreaking and horrible. Tara grew up in a fanatical Mormon household. Her childhood was spent scrapping and bottling fruit for the end of times. Her father was authoritarian and paranoid, her brother violent. This book tells the story of her formation of self and her discovery of education.

It makes me treasure my education even more but also perplexes me in the human capacity for ignorance. It was riveting and touching.
