Build in public is important because it can help you with those initial downloads, and first reviews.

  • Take a look at competitors, choose similar keywords to them
  • Don’t duplicate keywords
  • Use localisations to narrow down keywords in other languages
  • Description is not used for keywords

Go for Popularity / Difficulty

  • 19 Popularity is not that great.
  • But 21 is reasonable

If popularity is low, you can still build the app. But don’t spend a lot of time on it.
